Our private surf lesson in Maui with Eddie was the absolute highlight of our trip! I am 30 and my mom is 65 and Eddie tailored the lesson perfectly to our different abilities! He is a fantastic instructor for all ages!
The waves at Kalama Park in Kihei were consistent and perfect for learning. My mom has some reservations, but Eddie's patience and expertise in teaching balance and wave timing gave her the confidence to get up on the board!
I have a background in snowboarding and wakeboarding but being from the Midwest I have never had the opportunity to surf before. Eddie really helped me translate those skills to the ocean! After some really helpful instruction on my stance paddling and pop up speed from Eddie, I was able to learn how to feel the wave! As the lesson progressed, he challenged me with bigger waves and technical tips that really helped me improve!

I highly recommend booking surf lessons with Surf Yoga Maui. These folks capture the Aloha spirit - so warm, welcoming, and helpful all around. Summer is friendly, responsive, and attentive, making it so easy to book lessons tailored to my surfing goals. Eddie is my absolute favourite surf instructor. Having taken surf lessons in various parts of the world, I have progressed the most with Eddie in the span of a week. I even moved on over to an epoxy board and Eddie taught me how to find the appropriate waves for that board and catch it myself this time around!
In every lesson, private or group, Eddie is able to tailor his teaching based on the skill level of each surfer and get them standing on that board! Anytime anyone I know is heading to Maui, I’m sending them to Surf Yoga Maui. Looking forward to the next time I can surf with them again!

Eddie was a great surfing instructor! Kids enjoyed the lesson, looking forward to future lessons. Also it was nice to have professional photos taken. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience! Lesson was crafted to reflect my abilities and adjusted accordingly as I progressed. I did the 3-day private lessons, and I HIGHLY recommend it! After the 3 days of 2-hr lessons, I felt confident and capable - even in choppy waters on the final day. The atmosphere was fun, chill, and supportive and I didn't just learn and develop skills, but also learned surfing etiquette and expectations - fully equipping me to surf on my own in the future. Highly recommend Surf Yoga Maui!!!

We had the best time ever with Surf Yoga! The best place for kiddos. We had kids aged 6, 8, 13 and 15 and one adult. The instructors, Eddie and San, were so attentive, coached everyone, made them feel confident on the boards and were overall just super fun people!!! 10/10 recommend Surf Yoga when in Maui!!!
