This is exactly the kind of coffee shop I hoped to find while visiting the island. You'll absolutely love the vibe, the crew, and of course the coffee.
The owner will walk you through the coffee they have roasted and give you the back story on anything you're interested in, making every sip that much more enjoyable.
I stepped away from my traditional black Americano to try one of their local favorites and got a banana mocha. It was delicious and hit the spot.
Their inside has games, books, and even guitars in front of a giant world map you can see where people have visited from all over the world. I couldn't resist adding a pin to make sure that Tacoma has a showing.
I chilled inside while I worked on some deliverables for my next employee engagement workshop that I'll be delivering when I get home. But once the work was done I was excited to move out to the deck where I watched the waves at the beach across the street.
Give this local small business lots of attention while you are here. I'll be sure it's a regular part of all of my visits.

My husband and I have been to Maui a couple times now and have gotten many beverages from Lava Java. We especially like the Ube coffee and the frozen mocha. The staff has always been kind and it’s a cute little shop with different areas to sit. I’d recommend it if you are in Maui!

Their banana mocha was soo good, I made it my daily coffee spot during my stay in Maui. In addition to the wonderful coffee, the service was extraordinary. Every barista I encountered was attentive, friendly and went above and beyond to provide a caring experience. I miss it already and can’t wait to be back! :)

I cannot say enough good things…. I love this coffee shop, I am genuinely sad that I will not be able to get it everyday at home. We got a banana macadamia nut flavored iced latte everytime we came! It was the perfect amount of coffee with a touch of sweetness and the flavor was amazing. Staff were always very helpful and friendly and the inside of the coffee shop is so cozy and cute. I would come here everyday if I could!!

Came here on a Thursday morning and there was no line. The staff were friendly and made small talk with us. I believe I had a hot coconut macadamia coffee and my partner had an iced version. Cute place to get your caffeinated Hawaiian coffee!
