This store has to have the most extensive wine, spirit section I’ve ever seen. Truly a wonderful experience and the staff were phenomenal. The shelves were stocked and isles were free of trash and debris. Self checkout was quick and easy process, in/out in record time with the items I went inside for which really made me happy!

This Safeway is a huge store where you can get almost anything.
They have all kinds of daily necessities, fresh produce, and even ready-to-eat dishes including Chinese food.
It’s really convenient!

It is big, clean, and has a large selection of goods (mostly highly processed foods from big box brands) at an inflated price.
What bothers me most about Safeway in Hawaii is the lack of tropical produce and baked goods. I'm expecting to see lilikoi cheesecake, coconut cream pie, or other tropical "island-like" baked goods. Pre-cut fruit is limited to melon, berries, and grapes... Come on! Where's the cut mango, papaya, star fruit, etc ? Tres Leches cake and sliced melon is not cutting it for me, and many other tourists.
Also, expect only 1 or maximum 2 checkouts to be open with long lines. Even the self-checkout has a long line. Obviously good service and abundant employees are not the reason for the overpriced goods.

One of the large grocery store in Lahaina, you can find about anything there for a fair price. Make sure to download the app and create a safeway account to benefit from the rebates if you're a tourist, you will get way better prices for just a few minutes and clicks!

Very well stocked large Safeway. Located at Cannery Mall. Has a Starbucks, Deli, cakes and bakery section. Lots of fresh produce and good selection of vegetarian options. Don't forget your Safeway card for extra savings!
