We really enjoyed our dinner at Hula Grill in Kāʻanapali. It’s a large, lively restaurant with a great atmosphere, and the service was truly outstanding. Our waitress, Astrid, was amazing—so friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. She really made the experience memorable.
We started with a couple of appetizers and drinks, but they were just okay. The cocktails were nothing special. The bread service was a big miss for us- it wasn’t even served warm, just room temperature. The ceviche was fine but not the best we had on the island.
The entrées, however, completely won us over. We ordered the wood-fired local fish (mahi mahi or ono- can’t quite remember!) and it was phenomenal. The romesco it came with was delicious. The filet was also excellent- perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
To top it all off, Astrid surprised us with their famous Hula Pie for dessert, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch.
Overall, despite a slow start with the appetizers, the exceptional service and amazing entrées made this a fantastic meal. Highly recommend!

Fantastic beachfront restaurant! Hula Grill Kaʻanapali has an amazing oceanfront location with a relaxed Hawaiian vibe. Perfect for lunch or dinner while watching the waves and the sunset. Great food made with fresh ingredients, friendly service, and delicious cocktails. And if you’re lucky, you can even see whales jumping right from your table! A wonderful spot to enjoy the true Aloha feeling — we loved it!🌺🌺

Had a very nice dinner with my family the last night we were here in Maui. Not only was the food amazing, but the view was beautiful! It is a beachfront restaurant, was able to watch the sunset from our seats. Food was very tasty & we took dessert to go!

You can't go to Kaanapali without trying the famous Hula Pie! Our server CJ was so friendly and welcoming. We ate at the beachside tables that sit on the sand while listening to live music and watching the beach goers pass by. It was so relaxing. The Hula Pue itself has a chocolate cookie crust and macadamia but ice cream that is topped with a generous layer of chocolate, whipped cream and macadamia nuts.

Service was quick and friendly. Our server was nice and we talked about our tattoos. No wait to get in. We had the kapulu joe which was a sweet pulled pork sandwhich and ahi poke bowl. Both were delicious. Prices were pretty reasonable. It is located at whaler's village so the area is pretty happening during the day. It was pretty relaxed vibe with live music playing cover songs on the ukulele. It is definately a good spot to stop and grab lunch if you are shopping in the village or coming g back from a fishing or snorkeling outing.
