Stopped by this Thai food truck on the Road to Hana. We ordered the pumpkin curry soup, the crispy basil chicken with rice, and the garlic shrimp with rice. The menu didnโt have a ton of choices, but it covered the basics and had a few interesting options.
The pumpkin curry soup honestly surprised me. I donโt usually like pumpkin and it didnโt sound that appetizing, but I wanted to try something different. It turned out flavourful and creamy, mixed well with the spices, definitely better than I expected.
The crispy basil chicken was solid. Well seasoned and tasty, though not as spicy as I had hoped. It still paired nicely with the vegetables and rice.
The garlic shrimp was the standout. Juicy, cooked deliciously, and packed with garlic flavor, easily my favorite of the three.
Overall, the food was good and enjoyable, but the portion sizes didnโt quite feel worth the price but itโs still a nice stop on the Road to Hana.

Hands down the best Pad See Ew I had in Hawaiโi!
Aeโs Thai Kitchen may be a food truck, but the flavor rivals many sit-down restaurants. The Chicken Pad See Ew was incredible โ perfectly stir-fried noodles with that rich, smoky wok flavor, tender chicken, and just the right balance of sweetness and savoriness. The portion size was generous, and every bite tasted fresh and authentic.
If youโre craving Thai comfort food, this dish alone is worth the stop. Simple, delicious, and made with care โ exactly what you hope for from a hidden gem food truck.

The pumpkin red curry was one of the best vegetarian curries that Iโve had. The serving portion was large enough to share with another friend. Atmosphere was great. It rained (itโs Hana, of course it has to rain) while we were eating dinner across from the Friday farmers market. The large umbrellas on the picnic tables sheltered us just fine. Eggs rolls were fried fresh and very tasty.

I hate scammers. Food was excellent. Shows $22 on the sign for my meal. I brought 20 in cash. I order and say ill give you the 20 but i just need to run to my car to get you the other 2. She says oh its 25 with tax. I need 5 more. ???? I pay her the 5, get my meal, start eating. Look up hawaii tax rate ( which tax was included in all the other advertised surrounding food pricing boards) which is 4.5, realize that on 22 is little over 1 dollar not 3. Walk back up to the truck to inquire, i say how much is Mauiโs tax rate to the lady and without a response she hands me back my 3 dollars. I knew she was scamming me and she knew it too. She was very pissy, like all the locals in Hana. They do not want us there and express it freely.

This is the best kind of food you will get on this side of the island. There are other food trucks too but the Thai one is very nice. I would highly recommend the coconut crusted mahi mahi as they are fresh catches and tastes really good.
