Akamai Coffee: A Maui Must-Visit
Located in the Kehei area, Akamai Coffee is an absolute gem for coffee lovers. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, making every visit a delightful experience. The coffee itself is exceptional, with a fantastic array of unique and flavorful specialty drinks.
I was particularly blown away by the Road to Hana (R2H), a hot masterpiece expertly crafted by my barista, Casey. Her infectious island smile and deep coffee knowledge elevated the entire experience.
The coffee shop boasts a fun and relaxed atmosphere with quirky swinging chairs and both indoors and outdoors sesting options. Parking is available in the back, and they even have a convenient drive-thru. While tucked away in an office building, Akamai Coffee is definitely worth seeking out.
I can’t wait to return for another cup of perfection. Highly recommended!

Got two of their feature coffees, Road to Hana and the Hawaiian Honeybee. Preferred the R2H which had a subtle toffee nut over the honeybee coffee, which was too sweet and too much coconut. No wifi which is weird for a coffee shop. Service was okay, baristas were always busy but weren't overly friendly

I usually get my coffee to go, but it's a bright, clean, charming place, to sit and enjoy your beverage. I highly recommend the honeybee. Absolutely delicious! Their service is amazing. I had some takeout food that leaked in my bag. I was trying frantically to clean the mess up. The very nice girl at the counter noticed and offered me a new bag. That was above and beyond. Please check out their great coffee and say hi to their fantastic employees.

Too pricey. I ordered matcha green tea latte with 2 pumps of chai and it wasn’t as good as I was used to drinking from other coffee shops. No restroom inside the shop you have to go out for that. Also if you aren’t from the area, prepare to get lost as there is no clear sign of this coffee shop.
