You simply canโt find poke at $13 a pound. Costco is $20 a pound. The selection they have is not only fresh but voluptuous. We ordered six different types around 8 PM, fully stocked and they were all delicious. A fraction of the price anywhere else. We were very pleased. Do yourself a favor and try it!

Came to Foodland for the poke of course. My favorite is ahi tuna and anything salmon, maybe some pickled cucumbers (sometimes spicy). So many choices, you really can't go wrong, everything is so fresh and delicious! I got a poke plate with rice to enjoy. Best to go early for the most options and to avoid lines.
Other than that, it's a great market with everything you'd need on a trip with fantastic hot foods, bakery, veggies and fruit sections. I enjoyed seeing the variety of everything, especially the Hawaii only goods.

Be careful with the Sinaloa tortillas as they go bad before the expiration date. I bought these on Sunday April 6 and they had mould by Monday April 7 and were supposed to expire by Saturday April 12.
Store is small, selections are small and they lack organic items. The one over in Lahaina is much better for healthy options and selection.

If youโre looking to be a bit more frugal during your vacation, this local market near Wailea is a fantastic option where you can stock up on food and drinks for your hotel room. Not only will you save some money by avoiding overpriced resort prices, but youโll also get the chance to experience a slice of local life.
Itโs worth noting that a lot of the locals shop here too, which speaks to the quality and authenticity of the products they offer. Donโt hesitate to ask for recommendations from the staff or other shoppersโtheyโll likely have great suggestions on whatโs worth trying. Plus, you can sign up for their rewards program to enjoy discounts and special deals on selected items.
One of the highlights for me was taking my time to wander up and down the aisles, discovering a wide variety of foods I hadnโt seen before. It was like a mini adventure!

We chose Foodland over Safeway here at Kihei as it was closer to us, but both are great choices for buying food and groceries. Make sure to provide your phone number on checkout to get discounted prices and if you are staying longer I think it would be worthwhile to get the actual membership online for Foodland stores in Hawaii.
As everyone already said, their poke is awesome, tasty and fresh. Must have during a visit to Kihei and Maui !
We did actually make a special trip to find beef from the local Maui Cattle Company, after seeing local cattle on the hills of Haleakala, we wanted to try their grass fed beef steaks. Here you can see the selection in the photos and we chose a ribeye cut to try. It was really special taste you have to try although donโt expect extremely tender meat since these cattle were put through paces being grass fed out in the open on this beautiful island of Maui.
Finally, pls note that prices are much higher than on the mainland, but thatโs understandable for a store in a remote state of Hawaii!
