We really enjoyed our dinner at Hula Grill in Kāʻanapali. It’s a large, lively restaurant with a great atmosphere, and the service was truly outstanding. Our waitress, Astrid, was amazing—so friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. She really made the experience memorable.
We started with a couple of appetizers and drinks, but they were just okay. The cocktails were nothing special. The bread service was a big miss for us- it wasn’t even served warm, just room temperature. The ceviche was fine but not the best we had on the island.
The entrées, however, completely won us over. We ordered the wood-fired local fish (mahi mahi or ono- can’t quite remember!) and it was phenomenal. The romesco it came with was delicious. The filet was also excellent- perfectly cooked and full of flavor.
To top it all off, Astrid surprised us with their famous Hula Pie for dessert, which was such a sweet and thoughtful touch.
Overall, despite a slow start with the appetizers, the exceptional service and amazing entrées made this a fantastic meal. Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed both the dinner & brunch I had here. The crab Rangoons (dinner app) & avocado toast (brunch) were super satisfying & tasty. For being common menu items, both dishes had their own unique twist that I loved. Our waitresses were both very helpful & friendly. Great atmosphere. Love the barefoot sandy area. Amazing view as well!! Highly recommend.

Service was quick and friendly. Our server was nice and we talked about our tattoos. No wait to get in. We had the kapulu joe which was a sweet pulled pork sandwhich and ahi poke bowl. Both were delicious. Prices were pretty reasonable. It is located at whaler's village so the area is pretty happening during the day. It was pretty relaxed vibe with live music playing cover songs on the ukulele. It is definately a good spot to stop and grab lunch if you are shopping in the village or coming g back from a fishing or snorkeling outing.

As you see from one of my pictures there’s half cheeseburger, our waitress know what we was planning we picked one entree and one appetizer to share, I personally can’t eat much so I don’t like the feeling of overeating. So she asked us if we wanted the burger to be cuts in half and of course I said yes if that’s possible.
I told our waitress that I don’t want cheese on the burger but it’s served with cheese but luckily I can scraped out pretty good from my burger, I’m not allergic to it I just don’t like the taste of the cheese.
The Hula burger was really tasty.. we both really liked it, it was perfect!
Coconut calamari was so so, not really a fan of it.
Then we tried the Hula Pie, the Hula Pie was amazing!
Our waitress was Amber F, at first impression she seems cold and a bit unfriendly but at the halfway through the end on our late lunch I found her she’s a sweetheart! Turns out I really happy and like her personality 🤙🏼

Stopped by Hula Grill Kāʻanapali to catch the sunset and enjoy a drink and a bite. The vibe here is great — a big, lively restaurant that’s clearly very popular on the west shore of Maui.
I ordered the ceviche and the fish & chips. The ceviche was fresh and tasty, but it’s a small portion, really just enough for one person. The fish & chips were okay, nothing particularly memorable.
Overall, it’s a fun spot to grab a drink and some food while watching the sunset, but don’t come expecting an outstanding dining experience — the atmosphere is the main highlight here.
