Save yourself the headache and take your vehicle elsewhere. I'd give 0 stars. I am completely done with this shop after the worst repair experiences I’ve ever had on Maui. Except for my very first visit, not a single repair has been completed successfully afterward without having to immediately return (or go to actual mechanics) to fix their mistakes. They either fail to resolve the original issue, or create a brand-new problem you'll realize days to weeks later, due to poor workmanship and total lack of quality control. They have left fluids overfilled and trash inside my car upon return. You drive away with zero peace of mind. To make matters worse, they repeatedly (emphasis on repeatedly) add unauthorized services/parts without getting permission beforehand. They act like it's a favor when it's actually a lack of foresight and knowledge with what they're doing. Management and ownership lack professional integrity, and their responses to customer messages and reviews are incredibly unprofessional.
The mechanics here are incompetent for anything past basic maintenance. All the positive reviews seem to be for services anyone could look up on YouTube. Anything past tire changes and basic fluid checks, AVOID THIS SHOP. They may seem "affordable," but you get what you pay for. You will regret wasting your time and money.

I recently had my 2004 Toyota Sienna (213,000+ miles) towed to Master Auto Center after the starter failed at Kite Beach. My experience was excellent, particularly regarding their technical expertise and professional approach.
1. Reliability in an Emergency: Being stranded at Kanaha Beach, I found it nearly impossible to find a shop that would answer the phone or accept a tow-in without a prior appointment. Master Auto Center not only answered but coordinated effectively with 808 Towing to get my van into the shop immediately.
2. Speed and High-Quality Parts: Their efficiency is remarkable. I showed up at 9:00 AM, and the Denso starter—a high-quality, factory-spec repair part—was already there waiting with the other supplies. Because they pre-ordered based on the initial diagnosis, they were extremely quick in getting me back on the road.
3. The Value of Proper Diagnosis: While some may complain about diagnostic fees, I found the $149 charge to be a necessary investment. Many shops just "part swap," but for complex issues or older, rusty Maui cars, you need a skilled mechanic like Deok Lee to find the root cause before things break further.
4. Counterpoint to Negative Reviews: Regarding complaints about the shop refusing partial repairs (like "just the pads"): in my observation, this shop prioritizes safety over a "quick fix." On high-mileage vehicles, compromised systems need to be handled correctly to avoid total failure later. I’d rather have a shop that insists on doing the job right than one that sends me out in an unsafe vehicle.
5. Flexibility: They were flexible enough to let me provide my own Genuine Toyota oil filter and coolant, ensuring I got exactly the factory fluids I wanted for my engine. They even included a complimentary general inspection while the van was on the lift.
The Verdict: If you want the cheapest "no questions asked" repair, this might not be your shop. But if you value professional standards, high-quality Denso parts, and a mechanic who will tell you the truth about your car’s safety, I highly recommend this team.

Unbelievable Integrity, Expert Communication, and They Waived a $600 Diagnostic Fee!
From the moment I contacted SR Automotive, the staff were very polite and incredibly helpful. I brought my vehicle in for a complex Anti-Lock Brake (ABS) Modulator repair.
The service was exceptional. The mechanic who worked on my car was particularly outstanding, taking the time to describe the problem to me in detail to ensure I fully understood the critical issue.
After spending a good part of the day diagnosing the car, the team showed true integrity. They informed me that my car's specific make requires dealership-level programming to ensure the new modulator would function safely. Instead of proceeding with an incomplete job, they chose to stop the repair and directed me to the dealership, prioritizing my safety over their profit.
The most incredible act of integrity was regarding the bill. After the all-day diagnosis—a service that normally carries a fee of around $600—they waived the entire charge because they couldn't complete the full, correct repair!
SR Automotive sets the gold standard for honest service, expertise, and customer care. If you want trustworthy work from highly communicative and helpful staff, look no further. I will definitely be a returning customer for any future non-dealership specific work.

I had an amazing experience at Master Auto Center! I came in without an appointment needing new tires to be mounted on, and they took care of me right away. Tommy, the owner, is incredibly friendly, smart, and most importantly—honest. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers and takes pride in doing the job right. I think his wife runs the front and she’s super sweet and friendly too. It’s rare to find a shop that’s this efficient and trustworthy. Highly recommend to anyone looking for quality service and peace of mind!

Once again my mechanics at MasterCare did a great job with tire repairs within a half hour. Upon posting this I saw an older post that never went through, where I had my Lexus in for repairs but when done I had to work and couldn't pick it up so they kept my car for a couple of days. I will always go to MasterCare Auto!
