Joe really is the #1 surf instructor in the island. I had low expectations after researching online how hard it was to get up your first time, but Joe was undeterred. His confidence in us was inspiring! He said “I’ve never had a student that didn’t get up their first class” and that remains true to this day. Highly- HIGHLY recommend for your trip to the island. I had such insane bragging rights and my Boyfriend who passed on the class regretted it so hard after. The water is shallow on the entire beach, up to my shoulders at the deepest part (5’7) they give you shoes and stay with you the entire time. Waves are not crazy and would be safe for any and all ages.

On an unrelated note 😬😬 I think the photographer was overpriced (like $40 to $60 I forgot bc I said no) and if that was less expensive he would get a lot more business. They kept saying that the photos from land would suck, and I get my cell phone isn’t a beautiful camera, but as an adult I don’t think it was worth it. My video was shot on a iPhone 15 pro for reference. I will say if I had little kids surfing for the first time it would have been worth it. his photos were very clear and good quality.

We had a great experience with Maui Beach Boys. Eddie was a fantastic instructor. He was very thorough, and he made sure that all of us got up multiple times. One of the kids was a little slower than the others to get the hang of it. Eddie patiently built up her confidence, and within a few more tries she was standing up. We bought the pictures as well, which were totally worth it.

Our kids took semi-private surfing lessons from Eddy. He was very patient with them and got them both standing up. He was very understanding of their squabbling in the water and was able to adjust when they started winding down. Thanks for a great experience!

We recently surfed with Maui beach boys near Kihei. It was a wonderful experience to say the least. The management, photographer, and surf instructors were all so kind and encouraging. Specifically, Eddie and Isaac did a great job of getting us up on more waves than we ever thought we would. They always offered sound advice and kept the atmosphere entertaining, which was very beneficial for us newbies in the group. Overall, if you’re in the need of a surf lesson, be sure to check out Maui Beach Boys! They were amazing!

Maui Beach Boys are the best! We couldn't have asked for a better surf team to guide and take our group of 9 (5 adults and 4 kids age 10-11y) surfing in Maui. Half of us tried it once and the other half were excited newbies. I felt taken care of and had an amazing experience; totally forgetting about the worries of life. My son, Isaac also had an amazing time! The collection of photos to remember our time surfing in Maui was wonderful! Thank you so much!
