This was our first time to Maui and our two kids really wanted to try out surfing. Ryan, our instructor, was great! He was very knowledgeable and made it so easy for them to learn the very basics. They got a lot of time out on the waves and we felt really comfortable with them out there with him. If we go back, we'll definitely try it again and ask for Ryan. This company is also very conscience about cleaning up the beach.

We booked with Maui Surf Lessons for the 7:30 am couples private surf lesson and couldn't have been happier with our experience. Our coach/guide/ instructor or whatever you want to call it was a native of Lahaina and knew his stuff!
His strength was impressive as he had to "toe" us into some choppy waters to get to where we could get into the waves. I'm not a small guy and he hauled me around with ease! I've gone out a few times before but never with formal lessons and this experience beat them all!
They guaranteed us we would get up on a wave and my wife and I both did on multiple waves! It was an amazing feeling! We were the only ones on the water when we started and it was so serene and peaceful!
Ryan was a great instructor and really showed care for us. We loved our time and hope many others will choose his company for their surfing experience in Maui!

Surfing was the highlight of the kids’ week on Maui. Initially, 90 minutes seemed like not enough time. I was wrong; each of us were tired by the end. We lucked out with Ryan as our guide. He was essential in the four of us all getting up on our first try. In between paddling out and surfing in, our guide introduced us to his co-coach of the high school surf team, shared his secret place for the best plate lunch, and suggested where to rent boards later in the week. Ryan going the extra mile felt less like customer service more like we were family.

This was the first time my wife and I have tried surfing and Ryan did a great job! He was informative, very positive, and fun to hang with. We got some great photos as well. Highly recommend.

We had surf lessons with Ryan and it was absolutely amazing. He was thorough and helped everyone catch a wave. We learned more about the Hawaiian culture and language and he took his time with everyone.
