We’ve heard such good things and had high hopes but unfortunately our experience was just okay. The service was good - everyone was friendly and helpful. The outside seating was comfortable and relaxing.
Our drinks and apps were pretty quick, though we had a longer wait for the mains. And most of the food left something to be desired. The fish sandwich was small and for the price, should include a side. The mac but crusted fish was very salty, as were the greens. The rice was very dry. We were excited about the taro ravioli but all we could taste was butter and herbs - no taro flavor at all.
The cocktails were delicious and worth having a few. I’m sure the food is usually good as all of our friends have loved it. We just lucked out on our visit.

This food hands down was number 1 for us. We did make a reservation because it gets busy very quickly. The vibes are nice, the service was fast. Only negative was that when we ordered our food, they never gave us the fries we ordered. Other than that, food, drink and atmosphere were perfection! If you have a chance to visit Maui, please grab a meal here. Lamb chops and steak were 10/10. The spin on the mashed potatoes, there are no words for how good they were. The cornbread with the lamb chops was the perfect balance of sweet and savory.

We absolutely love Monkeypod! We went back a second time during our week in Wailea because it was so good. We love the Mai tais and cold brew martinis 😍 as well as the pork tacos, ahi tacos, and garlic fries. Ambiance and service are excellent too. Love the live music. Highly recommend!

This restaurant is always super busy, and certainly worth the hype, so plan on reserving a table ahead of time if you want to skip the line that forms around dinner time. I had the Bulgogi Pork Tacos. They’ve got a great mix of sweet, savory and spicy! The portions are good, and leave just enough room for a slice of cream pie. The orange creamsicle pie was my choice this time around, and is another must try. I have also tried the pizzas before and would also recommend those :). The restaurant also features an amazing view of the sunset!

All around, fabulous! Mai Thais are up to the hype; get a few! We had the truffle fries as an appetizer, fish and chips and fish sandwich for entrees, and chocolate cream pie for dessert. All of it was excellent! Great service, too! The other reviews are true; this place is a mad house so get a reservation! We did NOT have one and waited 15min at 5:30pm on a Sunday evening for a party of two.
